Business Intelligence Engineer
Neurons is looking for a BI Engineer to own and scale the data foundation behind our commercial engine. You’ll spend most of your time in the warehouse and pipelines, making sure the data is reliable, fast, and actually useful; and then turning it into insights that help us grow smarter.
At Neurons, we blend neuroscience and AI to predict human attention and emotional response to marketing content in seconds, helping brands make better decisions faster. Internally, our BI setup does something similar: giving Product, Revenue, and Finance a clear view of what’s working, what’s not, and where we should focus next. This isn’t an “ivory tower BI” role; it’s hands-on, value-based work tied to the customer journey and real business outcomes.
We’ll be collecting applications through the Christmas break and will start first-round reviews from early January. Thanks for your patience, and happy holidays!
Why Join Neurons
You’ll work closely with Product, RevOps, Sales/Marketing, and Finance, and sit at the center of insights that drive strategy and operations. You’ll have high ownership, high trust, and visible impact on how we scale.
What Success Looks Like In This Role
Within 6–12 months, our warehouse is a trusted source of truth: the key datasets are accurate, timely, and cleanly modeled, and teams use them with confidence. Pipelines are stable, monitored, and optimized, and data freshness matches what the business needs. Your dashboards and deep-dives are used in real decisions, forecasting, prioritization, and operational improvements; not just “nice to have” reporting.
You’ve also set us up to scale with tidy architecture, reusable models, and clear documentation so the system stays easy to build on.
What You'll Own
Own and scale our data warehouse
You’ll be responsible for the overall health and evolution of our warehouse and pipelines:
- Run and improve data pipelines end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and security.
- Optimize warehouse architecture for scale and performance.
- Keep systems connected and data flowing smoothly across teams to support unified revenue operations.
Deliver insights that drive growth
You’ll work with the BI Developer and RevOps to turn data into action, and partner closely with Product and Finance on their analytics needs. You will:
- Build and maintain dashboards/reporting that track Sales, Marketing, and Customer performance.
- Run deep-dive analyses to uncover patterns, forecast revenue potential, and inform strategy.
- Translate warehouse data into clear, practical insights that help teams move faster and smarter.
Improve processes and adoption
You’ll make our BI setup more efficient and easier to use over time:
- Identify gaps in our stack/processes and lead improvements.
- Partner with leaders to understand needs and implement solutions that raise operational performance and data quality.
- Document what you build and run enablement/training so teams actually use it.
What You Bring to Thrive
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS, Engineering, or similar; or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Solid experience in a data/BI role, ideally in a B2B SaaS environment.
- Strong SQL skills and extensive experience with Google BigQuery.
- Track record of building/optimizing large-scale data pipelines and warehouse architectures.
- Comfort working with messy/unstructured datasets and turning them into clean models.
- Experience with Google Cloud and modern workflow/pipeline tools.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-moving scale-up environment.
Bonus: Experience with DBT, plus familiarity with ML tools (e.g., TensorFlow) and broader data science skills.
How You Work
You’re a systems thinker and a self-starter who enjoys building solid foundations. You’re detail-oriented about data quality, but pragmatic about getting things shipped. You like working with stakeholders, asking the right questions, and staying close to the business, not tucked away building dashboards in isolation.
If this sounds like the kind of role you’d enjoy; owning the data backbone and helping a scale-up grow with clarity, we’d love to hear from you!
