AI Engineer
Build the Next Generation of AI at the Intersection of Neuroscience & Marketing
At Neurons, we help the world’s leading brands predict how people will perceive, feel, and react to creative; before it goes live. By combining AI, neuroscience, and proprietary biometric data, we’re reshaping how decisions are made in marketing, product, and design.
We’re now looking for an AI Engineer to play a key role in defining and building the next generation of our AI capabilities. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who enjoys owning complex systems end to end and turning cutting-edge research into production-ready solutions.
The Mission
Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to design, build, and operate robust AI systems that scale in production, unlock insights from unique data, and materially improve the Neurons platform.
You won’t just ship models; you’ll help shape how AI is used across the product.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Own Production-Grade AI Systems
You’ll lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex AI solutions used in production. This includes end-to-end ownership of multi-process workflows that combine generative AI, agentic systems, and multi-modal models to power new product capabilities.
Build & Operate ML Models End to End
You’ll own the full lifecycle of machine learning models built on Neurons’ proprietary biometric, neurometric, and psychometric datasets; from data preprocessing and feature engineering to training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
Drive Scalable Platform Integration
Working closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams, you’ll ensure AI solutions are seamlessly integrated into the platform, meeting high standards for scalability, resilience, and performance.
Raise the Engineering Bar
You’ll act as a technical leader within the AI team; mentoring junior engineers, promoting best practices in software engineering and MLOps, and helping shape how we build and maintain AI systems over time.
Stay at the Edge of Innovation
You’ll continuously evaluate and prototype emerging techniques in generative AI, agentic workflows, and computational neuroscience, bringing the most promising ideas into production to maintain Neurons’ competitive edge.
What Success Looks Like In This Role
Success means delivering AI systems that are reliable, explainable, and trusted in production. Models are well-validated, monitored, and continuously improved. Complex workflows are understandable and maintainable. Cross-functional teams rely on your solutions to ship product improvements faster. Over time, your work meaningfully expands what Neurons’ AI can do, and how confidently it can do it.
What You Bring
2–5+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning models in production
Strong Python expertise and hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and/or Scikit-learn
Proven experience designing and deploying generative AI systems in production, including:
- Agentic or multi-process workflows
- Multi-modal or LLM-based systems
- Thoughtful evaluation and validation approachesSolid grounding in MLOps, including Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (GCP strongly preferred)
Experience designing or consuming REST APIs; familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform) is a plus
A strong commitment to clean, maintainable, well-tested code
Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort working with ambiguity
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Your Impact
You collaborate naturally across disciplines and care about building things the right way, not just quickly. You take initiative, enjoy ownership, and aren’t afraid to tackle complex problems with minimal direction. You’re curious by default, eager to learn, experiment, and push the boundaries of what AI can do; and you communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teammates.
